Based on the information gathered, we got insights into what problems we are solving and the causes behind them.

One of the major issues we got to know is forgetting the conversations old people had with someone else and they forget how to interact and what to say. It also affects concentration which hampers their ability to perform simple daily tasks. This gets worse as the symptoms worsen. 

In many cases, they need caretakers to help them in this situation. The caretakers help them with their daily work, medications, etc. Serious symptoms may also burnout of caretakers and family members around. This issue needs to be addressed better before it worsens.


In extreme cases, elderly people may lose the ability to walk, perform daily tasks and their care cannot be taken anymore at home. 

These are major issues that need to be addressed while designing the product and planning its features which will help the elderly and be user-friendly to them.

Below is an interview undertaken by us with Mr. Tarun (Dementia Professional), to get to know a better viewpoint of Dementia and our product for that.

Conception Possible products:  1. Sensor on a wristwatch There will be a sensor on the normal analog watch, with an inbuilt mic which can record the conversations elderly have with different people and they can use it later to hear if they meet the person again after some time. As it is a normal wristwatch, it would not be much difficult for the elderly to use. 2. Spectacles There will be a camera on the top of spectacles which can record the conversations and can be used to later by the elderly to remember a conversation if they need. The camera will also capture images of products like medicines and other important things elderly people use and if they want to find it later than they can do so by tracking the last location of the product using the image.
